One of the most fascinating people I have ever met is Golden Globe-winning actor Rutger Hauer. Some time ago, I attracted him as a major investor and supporter of iUHBA Networks, Inc., but I have the pleasure of knowing him since years. Because we are nearing a few crucial presentations/launches, I had a dinner with him on Wednesday and a lunch on Friday last week. Read the rest of this entry »

Golden Globe winning Hollywood icon Rutger Hauer and I will be presenting iUHBA to a select group of investors, business relations and reporters during a lunch meeting on November 12th at the Hilton Rotterdam. This is an appetizer for the larger TMT Investors Seminar, which will be held on November 26th, 2009 at the Ahoy Conference Hall in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Mr. Hauer was/is an early investor and believer of iUHBA Networks, Inc. We are proud to have his continued commitment and great support.

We present a new Technology White Paper as yet another piece of evidence of iUHBA Networks Inc.’s ability to dominate the future fiber optic networking industry. Please note: this document solely describes the patented fiber optics technology segment of iUHBA’s FiberBroadband Strategy; the wireless segment is not discussed. To receive a copy you have to be a member of the Next Generation Development & Infrastructures Consortium on Linkedin groups.

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too;

“As soon as enough people give you enough compliments and you`re wielding more power than you`ve ever had in your life, it`s not that you become an arrogant little prick, or become rude to people, but you get a false sense of your own importance and what you`ve accomplished. You actually think you`ve altered the course of history.”

As I explained in a previous post, one of the wisest advices I ever got came from Peter De Savory. This man had just invested £50M in renovating Skibo Castle (Dornoch, Scotland), which was previously owned by the Carnegie family. I was the youngest member ever (in January, 1998, at age 27) of the illustrious Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle that PDS had founded. Read the rest of this entry »

In my opinion, David Croslin is the most amazing and successful technologist on this planet (I am talking about Earth). It is thus no surprise that I lured him away from HP where he served as Chief Technologist of the $9B Media, Communications and Entertainment vertical of the world’s largest IT firm. Earlier this evening I called Dave and had to disconnect because of the bad connection, so we continued on a messaging application. It turned out to be a back-and-forth of how to do this, and how to do that, and why do it this way, why do it that way. Read the rest of this entry »

There are several definitions to describe entrepreneurs, but in general the term is used by almost every Tom, Dick, and Harry. The Oxford Dictionary simply states that an entrepreneur is “a person who sets up a business and businesses.“ That is basically why most people call Richard Branson the proto-entrepreneur; the man personifies “the risk-taking and hard-working entrepreneur”. But that’s just what meets the eye. Read the rest of this entry »

I am a creative person, and I see myself more as a marketer than anything else. Even in the businessworld I feel I am an artist, and if someone doesn’t understand where or what I am getting at I console myself by thinking that this person does not understand my “art”. Just like an artist would not put anything out that he hates, I would not do business in a way that I dislike, and I would not do any deals that I hate. Read the rest of this entry »

Who the F* Are you?

March 14, 2009

So, my previous post was about me and how I expect people to ask who and why I think what I am. But since it takes two to Tango, be prepared to tell me who the heck you think you are if you plan to scrutinize me.
